TIBIEL EOOD provides a wide range of services related to natural gas trading and transmission. The Company has created an environment that promptly and adequately covers the needs and specific requirements of customers.

TIBIEL EOOD is a leading Company in the field of natural gas trading. The Company operates in compliance with the provisions of Bulgarian legislation, and in particular the Energy Act, the Rules for Trading in Natural Gas and the Rules for Providing Access to Gas Transmission and/or Gas Distribution Networks and for Access to Natural Gas Storage Facilities, promulgated in State Gazette (SG) No. 36 of 2013. The Company trades with industrial consumers on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as with end customers and other gas traders.

TIBIEL EOOD, acting in its capacity as a natural gas trader, concludes transactions at freely negotiated prices for the sale of natural gas to customers based on written contracts in compliance with the provisions of the Energy Act (EA) and the Rules for Trading in Natural Gas, promulgated in State Gazette. The Company offers customers flexibility and favourable conditions for satisfying the demand and consumption of natural gas.

Since 1 October 2019, the Company has been a registered participant in the Regional Booking Platform (RBP) and the Commercial Dispatching Platform of Bulgartransgaz EAD.

Furthermore, on 2 January 2020, TIBIEL EOOD became a full member of the natural gas trading exchange of Balkan Gas Hub. The first transaction carried out on the stock exchange in the Intraday and Day Ahead segments was carried out by the Company.

As of May 2021, TIBIEL EOOD is the holder of a natural gas trade license No. Л-534-15 of 28 May 2021, issued by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Bulgaria. It is important to point out the fact that the license issued to TIBIEL EOOD is the first one issued in the Republic of Bulgaria for natural gas trading.

As of 10 December 2020, TIBIEL EOOD is the holder of a license for natural gas trading on the territory of Greece and has access to the Greek gas transmission network.

As of April 2021, TIBIEL EOOD is the holder of a license for natural gas trading in Romania. As of 16 June 2021, the Company is entitled to transfer quantities of natural gas through the gas transmission network of Romania. As of 15 September 2021, TIBIEL EOOD is registered and can carry out transactions on the largest stock exchange trading platform in Romania. In July 2022, the Company was issued a license natural gas trading in Greece.

TIBIEL EOOD provides its customers with a wide range of services related to the sale of natural gas. 

TIBIEL EOOD trades with industrial consumers on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as with end customers and other gas traders.

In 2020, the main supplies of natural gas by TIBIEL EOOD were carried out to cover part of the consumption of Toplofikatsia Pleven EAD, Toplofikatsia Vratsa AD, Toplofikacia Pernik AD and Toplofikatsia Burgas EAD, whereby in the second half of the year there were supplies to Toplofikatsia Ruse EAD and Ruse Chemicals AD. During the year, part of the purchased but unrealized supplies under contracts were implemented on the Balkan Gas Hub, as well as on the balancing market. 

As of 1 January 2021, TIBIEL EOOD, according to the concluded contracts, is the sole supplier of natural gas to Toplofikatsia Pleven EAD, Toplofikatsia Vratsa AD, Toplofikacia Pernik AD, Toplofikatsia Burgas EAD, Toplofikatsia Ruse EAD and Toplofikatcia – VT AD. TIBIEL EOOD is also a supplier to six industrial enterprises, State Enterprise Air Traffic Control, as well as to a considerable number of business customers. In 2021 TIBIEL EOOD participated in tenders and was assigned natural gas storage capacity in the Underground Gas Storage in Chiren, which capacity is limited for the commercial participants in the national natural gas market.

After the launch of the platform for the sale of natural gas – Balkan Gas Hub, TIBIEL EOOD offers its customers flexibility and favourable conditions for meeting their needs regarding the consumption of natural gas.

In connection with the long-term strategy and policy of TIBIEL EOOD for a permanent presence and establishment of the natural gas market in Bulgaria and the region, including Romania, Greece and Turkey, the Company has sufficient resources to carry out its operations in the long term and to guarantees the implementation of its obligations under the concluded natural gas deals.

In order to ensure the supply of natural gas for its customers, natural gas is also stored in Chiren Underground Gas Storage Facility (Chiren UGS) owned by the Bulgarian gas operator Bulgartransgaz EAD, with the main purpose of storing natural gas to cover the seasonal irregularities in the consumption and supply of natural gas. 

Over the years, the Company’s market share and revenue have been increasing at a steady pace, and the Company has now gained the reputation of a credible and reliable natural gas supplier.

TIBIEL EOOD is a member of the Association of Traders and Producers of Natural Gas and Hydrogen.

The Company believes that the established natural gas market is an important step towards the liberalization of the natural gas market in the Republic of Bulgaria, which in turn will lead to an increase in the number of commercial participants and the intensity of the transactions concluded by them.
